Goals of the Tar Heel Bus Tour

The Tar Heel Bus Tour aims to help Carolina faculty and senior administrators to:  

• Learn about the state and visit communities that many of our students call home;  
• Understand UNC-Chapel Hill’s impact in the state of North Carolina and our commitment to public service;  
• Introduce participants to people, ideas and programs that can inform their teaching and research;  
• Identify opportunities for engaged scholarship and service that respond to the concerns of the state and contribute to the common good;  
• Build our community together and encourage interdisciplinary connections.
